FCoP Development Update #1

Hey all!
Update progress is going swell, just wanted to update you all on what we've been working on. Here's a couple of things that we've been working on:
Difficulties
For the most part actually, the new difficulties are pretty much done! Easy mode simply reduces the speed, health and damage of all of the enemies, culls a couple of difficult attacks from some bosses and just overall makes the game easier for lower-skilled gamers (no offense). SomeBunny took the liberty of pushing Hard mode a step further, however; some enemies and ALL bosses now have new move-sets, along with more health, damage and speed to top them off! Some extra tuning is going into these as we speak, but Hard mode will really be a force to be reckoned with once complete.
Endless Mode
After finishing up the difficulty back-end, I began to work a little bit on the new Endless mode! It's not totally ready to be shown off just yet, being very rough around the edges and not even entirely... working. However, WitherGates has been cooking up a neat new track to accompany the new mode. Take a listen!
Shaders and Visual Changes
SomeBunny has taken some time to implement some new rendering pipeline stuff, as well as create a brand new portal texture using some snazzy node graphing! Attached is a visual comparison between the old and new portals! Looking closely, you can also see some of the new bloom and lighting.
Other Stuff
On top of the two big things above, we've taken some time to make some quality-of-life adjustments and other changes to make the game feel overall better to play. Here's a few examples:
- Player movement is a lot less drifty (for those precise movements through bullet patterns).
- Health pick-ups and money will now automatically drift towards you when approached, and their pull range is shown visually.
- The Shop and Altar now have fixed prices, 150 for augments or sacrifices, and 85 for drones.
- You can now pay for a quick repair in the shop, for 35 pieces.
- The Altar now takes some of your max HP instead of your current HP, making it a riskier choice to make.
We still have a lot of work ahead, so don't expect a release date too soon. We'll keep you updated, though!
